One World FC began sevaral years when a group of International Students and Faculty at Arkansas State University came together to form a recreational soccer team. The initial team draw players from 11 countries, including USA, Columbia, Nigeria, Chile, Germany, Mexico.
The team played in the Hispanic League of Jonesboro for three seasons before joining the Jonesboro-Craighead County Soccer Association. Today, the team is made up of young to middle-aged professional adults drawn from the Greater Jonesboro community.
In the inaugural season of the JCCSA Adult League, One world FC was the second place team behind the Strikers. The second season was not as productive as the first as personell in the team changed dramatically from the first season.
The Fall 2008 season produced a scintillating finale between The Strikers and One World FC. Though the Strikers won in the end, One World showed that it plans to contend for the Spring 2009 season. Without the addition of three new members, the prospect for the new season looks great.
